Super Mario 3D Land

Mitch:

This game lived up to expectation. In fact it over lived expectations. The game did have a few drawbacks though. The ‘broken’ Tanooki Suit was a shame as was the Golden P Wing because they disabled the entire point of the game to defeat levels and figure out what to do. The level layouts were awesome and the enemies were tough. The special world were a huge bonus and the amazing 3D graphics really bumped up the comp can’t wait till the next one paper Mario featuring 8-Bit Mario is out. All out a good game.

Kody:

This is basically Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Super Mario Bros. 3 combined. The first reference (which becomes less of a reference and more of an actual Power-Up as you complete the First World) is the Tanooki Suit, which enables you to flutter jump. Even though it got a 9 out of 10, Super Mario 3D Land does have a few drawbacks, so don't expect a flawless game here. First of all, players who aren't as good as the seasoned Nintendo fans will have a problem with the Super Guide. Unless you don't care about Star Coins, you have little choice. Either keep on dying and losing 1-ups, or use the 'Mysterious White Tanooki Suit,' which is an invincible, cheaty version of the suit (Hope you're happy, Cheaty McCheatster). To get this you must die five times. If you have died ten times, you are allowed to use the P-Wing. This is the cheatiest Mario 'Power Up' I have ever seen. It literally makes you fly into the air and land you right next to the flagpole. Second, there aren't really any new bosses. It's either Boom Boom and/or his lady partner, or Bowser. Despite these, it proves itself a pretty good game. With sixteen worlds (8 main worlds, 8 special), excellent 3D stages (stages designed to take advantage of 3D) and spectacular level design even without 3D in mind, Mario fans have an essential game here.
